1947년 이집트의 알렉산드리아에서 태어났다.
어릴적 친구였던
반젤리스와 함께 "Aphrodite's Child"의 멤버였던
그는 그룹의 해체 이후
영화 음악가로서 활발한 활동을 하고있는 반젤리스와 더블어
가장 의욕적인 활동을 펼치며,
특유의 허스키한 감성적인 고음의 바이브레이션의 발성으로
국내에서도 많은 팬층을 확보하고 있다.
1967년 결성된 "Aphrodite's Child" 란
그룹 자체의 유명세와 반젤리스란 너무도 유명한 아티스트로 인해
국내에서는 Demis Roussos란 아티스트에 대하여 별로 알려진 정보는 없다.
Demis Roussos 대표곡으로는
1977년 발표된 잃어버린 사랑을 애절하게 노래하고 있는
